Building on a historic year for running, during which Sabastian Sawe became the first athlete to run a marathon in under two hours in the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3, the Adizero Adios Pro 5 integrates this revolutionary innovation into its latest racing shoe model.
Much more than just an evolution of its predecessor, the Adizero Adios Pro 4, the Adizero Adios Pro 5 reimagines every major component of the shoe. Inspired by the technologies first introduced in the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3, advancements in weight, foam construction, and carbon technology combine to deliver a 9% improvement in energy return, while helping runners maintain their speed for longer in the race through increased comfort and stability.
Drawing inspiration from the design language of the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3, the Adizero Adios Pro 5 is crafted from premium, ultra-lightweight materials. It introduces ENERGYRIM carbon technology to the Pro series for the first time, visible around the shoe’s midsole and highlighted by a reflective zone at the heel.

- Weight reduction – With an average weight of 177g, the Adizero Adios Pro 5 is approximately 23g – or 12% – lighter than the Adizero Adios Pro 4, offering a lighter racing experience without compromising comfort or stability.
- ENERGYRIM Technology – Replacing ENERGYRODS, the all-new carbon-enriched ENERGYRIM construction allows for an increased volume of LIGHTSTRIKE PRO foam directly under the foot, while providing precision-tuned rigidity to ensure stability and propulsion throughout the stride, with a 9% increase in energy return.
- Redesigned outsole – A new outsole providing maximum grip combines data-driven LIGHTTRAXION technology with Continental™ rubber to offer lightweight traction, reliable grip, and improved durability over long distances.

The Adizero Adios Pro 5 is the most tested, validated, and studied shoe in the history of the Adizero range. From trials conducted with over 25 athletes in Kenya, Ethiopia, and the United States to long-term usage tests, internal performance validation, and independent biomechanical research, every design choice was backed by real-world athlete feedback to optimize performance. This development process notably involved Sabastian Sawe, the men’s marathon world record holder, whose performances continue to shape the future of adidas race-day innovations.
The Adizero range continues to redefine the limits of what is possible in long-distance running, helping adidas athletes break 12 world records and secure over 30 victories in major road races. This year alone, adidas athletes have broken all four marathon and half-marathon world records—for both men and women—including the sub-two-hour marathon—while wearing the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3.
